Places that belong together

The town, region and postcode in each address come from the same record of the GeoNames postal dataset, Japan Post’s postcode file or Google’s address metadata. We never pair a random city with a random postcode.

Written the local way

Line order, postcode position and region abbreviations follow each country’s format. Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew, Cyrillic, Greek and Thai addresses appear in their own script, with a Latin version alongside.

Safe test data

Street names and house numbers are synthetic. E-mails use reserved example.com domains, and phone numbers come from ranges regulators reserve for fiction where those exist. There are no ID or card numbers.

Common questions

Are these real addresses?
The cities, regions and postcodes are real. The street names, house numbers and units are made up, so an address may not exist. If it does match a real property, that is a coincidence. Never send mail or goods to a generated address.
Why do some countries have no postcode?
Some countries, such as the United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong, do not use postcodes. Others do, but no open dataset links their codes to places. There we leave the postcode out instead of inventing one. You can still turn on pattern-valid placeholders, which are clearly labelled.
Can I get the same address again?
Yes. Every result has a seed, and the copied link reproduces it. In the bulk and test-data tools, the same seed and settings always give the same file.
Are generated addresses sent to a server?
No. Addresses are generated in your browser from static data files, and you never need an account. Optional analytics runs only with your permission; see our privacy details.
